A Heritage Rooted in History: From Kahveci Alibey Coffee House to the Present Day…
The foundations of our business are based on a historical coffee house in the heart of Marmaris, which carries the spirit of the period. Ali Aras, known as Kahveci Alibey, was born in 1894, became a veteran of the Caucasus Front, and returned to his hometown with honor. The coffee house he opened in Marmaris after the war was not only a coffeehouse; it also became a cultural stop where the intellectuals, civil servants and the public of the period met.
In those years, there was only one radio in the district and it was in Alibey's coffee house. The people of Marmaris would gather here, talk, discuss and listen to the evening news and music broadcasts. This coffee house was a part of the social memory of the town, its living history.
Kahveci Alibey was not just a shopkeeper; he was a unifying figure respected by the society. Although he passed away on April 12, 1974, his traces continued to live on in his place, his people and the values he left behind. This place, which served as a coffee house until 1985, opened its doors in a new form, as an authentic hotel, with the changing living conditions and the shift in location.
This legacy was taken over by Tuncel Aras with great loyalty and responsibility. As the son of Alibey, he not only kept his father's memory alive, but also brought our current business into being by blending an understanding of hospitality shaped by his principles with modern management.
Today, our business, which operates under the name Kahveci Alibey, is not just an accommodation facility; it is a place that connects with the past, draws strength from its roots, and offers its visitors an experience that smells of history. In this story passed down from grandfather to grandson, every stone and every detail has a meaning, and every corner has a memory to tell.
With the legacy of Kahveci Alibey, we carry the spirit of the past to the future.
